Message from the Head of School
I feel privileged to be Head of School here at Greenstone Primary, with outdoor learning and forest school at the heart of everything we do. We strongly believe that nature nurtures creativity and empowers children to take ownership over their learning, fostering independence and providing the freedom to take risks whilst developing confidence. At Greenstone, we believe regular contact with nature is essential for holistic, healthy child development and we will provide regular, invaluable outdoor learning opportunities as an integral part of our curriculum.
We ensure high expectations of teaching and learning in a nurturing environment where every child is valued and can succeed; a warm and welcoming school which is truly a celebration of those within its community. Our learning environment fosters a love of learning and equips children with the knowledge, skills and character necessary to be successful, independent lifelong learners.
We are proud to be part of the Lionheart Educational Trust and work very closely with our other trust primary schools; Brocks Hill, Broom Leys, Highcliffe, Riverside, Hallam Fields and Newhall Junior School. Together, we work tirelessly to ensure that our primary schools provide the highest quality education both academically and holistically.
Our Trust vision of empowering every person from every background to unlock their future and thrive in a competitive world, permeates throughout our school. This vision sits alongside the 6Rs; Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness, Resilience, Reflection and Reciprocity. We aim to develop self-directed, inquisitive and brave individuals who want to reach their full potential.
With the support from families and the local community, Greenstone is a school where every child thrives.
